Connect Wix or Wix Studio with a site API key: required permissions, how drafts and publishing work, and its one real limit.
Updated 2026-09-13
Climb AI creates and publishes Wix blog posts using the Wix Blog v3 API and a site-scoped API key. It works the same way for a Wix site or a Wix Studio site — pick whichever category matches yours when connecting.
- 1Create an API keyIn your Wix dashboard, go to Settings → API Keys and create a key with the Manage Blog and Manage Media Manager permissions.
- 2Find your Site IDCopy your Site ID from Settings → Site properties (or the dashboard URL).
- 3Enter details in Climb AIIn site setup, choose Wix, pick "Wix" or "Wix Studio", and enter the Site ID and API key. Climb AI verifies it by requesting your blog posts.
What gets published
| Sent to Wix | Read from Wix |
|---|---|
| Article body, converted to Wix's Ricos rich-content format | Your Wix member ID, used as the post author |
| Images, uploaded to the Wix Media Manager | The live post URL after publish |
| A draft post is created first, then published in a separate call | — |
Publishing is two steps: a draft post is created via
bulk/draft-posts/create, then published via draft-posts/{id}/publish. If a draft already exists from an earlier attempt, Climb AI reuses it instead of creating a duplicate.Wix's API has no unpublish call. To take a post down, remove it from the Wix dashboard directly — Climb AI has no way to do this for you, and its own record of the article won't reflect a manual removal.
Frequently asked questions
Yes — the Blog app must already be added to your site, which is the case on every site with a Wix blog set up.
