Your first article

An article goes through a fixed set of statuses from the moment it’s scheduled to the moment it publishes. You’ll see these statuses in the Content list, and they tell you exactly what state a given article is in.

The lifecycle — every article status

The full set of statuses an article can show is: Draft, Scheduled, Generating, In Review, Publishing, Published, Generation Failed, Publishing Failed, Scheduled (Publish Failed) and Paused - Limit Reached. Here is when each one appears.

1. Draft / Scheduled brief — a content brief exists, either from your keyword clusters or written manually. If it has no target publish date it stays a plain brief; set a date and it becomes Scheduled.
2. Generating — when a scheduled brief’s target date is reached, a generation job claims it and flips it to Generating. This also consumes one article credit from your monthly allowance, charged once per job, not per retry.
3. Draft or Scheduled (again) — once the AI finishes writing, an article with no publish date lands back in Draft for you to review; one with a publish date returns to Scheduled so the publisher can pick it up at the right time.
4. In Review — you can manually move a draft here while you read it over before approving it for publishing.
5. Publishing → Published — at the scheduled time, the publisher claims the article, sends it to your connected platform (WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or your webhook), and marks it Published on success.
6. Publishing Failed — if there’s no platform connected, or the publish call to your platform fails, the article is marked Publishing Failed and the reason is recorded on the article itself so you can see exactly what went wrong (e.g. no CMS connected, or an unsupported integration type) rather than just a generic failure.
7. Paused - Limit Reached — if you’ve used up your monthly article allowance when a generation job runs, the article and its brief pause here instead of failing outright. They resume automatically the moment your allowance frees up (monthly reset or upgrade) — you don’t need to re-trigger anything.

Finding and editing it

Open any article from the Content list to reach the editor. From there you can:

• Edit the title and body directly, then save.
• Run an SEO analysis on demand — it scores the current title and content and shows the breakdown; it does not run automatically as you type.
• Duplicate the article to reuse it as a starting point for something else.
• Unpublish a live article (WordPress, Webflow and Shopify support this; Wix does not, since its API has no unpublish endpoint — the option is hidden for Wix sites).
• Export the article as HTML, Markdown or JSON, whether or not it’s connected to a publishing platform.

Why "Publishing Failed" happens

The most common cause is that no CMS is connected yet — see Connect your site. If a platform is connected but rejects the request, that reason is stored on the article and shown in the UI, so you’re never left guessing.
