Article images
Choosing a style, how many images each article gets, what counts against your image allowance, and how alt text gets written.
Images are generated per article by a kie.ai image model, using prompts the AI writes from the article draft itself. They're the most expensive part of generating an article, which is why they're metered and capped separately from the article itself.
Style and count
In content settings you pick an image style — Realistic, Watercolor, Cinematic, Illustration or Sketchy — and images per article, from 0 to 4. Setting 0 produces text-only articles that spend nothing from your image allowance.
| Plan | Max images per article | Images per month |
|---|---|---|
| Trial | 2 | 16 |
| Current plan | 4 | 200 |
What counts against the allowance
Each successfully generated image consumes one image credit from your monthly allowance, charged right before the image is generated so a concurrent retry can't double-spend it. If generation itself fails after the credit is charged, the credit is refunded automatically.
What happens at the cap
If your monthly image allowance is used up mid-article, that article still finishes and publishes — just without illustrations for the images that would have pushed you over. You get one notification per month telling you how many images you've used and suggesting you lower "Images per article" in content settings to make the allowance stretch further; you won't be notified again until the next period, so it doesn't spam you article after article.
Alt text
Separately from article generation, existing images already on your site get audited: a discovery pass finds every image, then each one is sent to a vision model along with the page's topic and primary keyword, and the model writes alt text from what it actually sees in the image (falling back to the page context alone if the image can't be downloaded — too large, wrong format, or blocked). This writing step draws from your AI operations allowance, not the images allowance.
