Connect your site

What each onboarding step asks for, what gets auto-filled, and where to pick a publishing platform.

Onboarding starts before any website record exists: you enter a domain, and Climb AI crawls it and analyzes your business. From there you either accept an AI-generated setup or go through six steps yourself, with the same fields either way — just pre-filled when AI setup runs first.

Step 0: your domain

Type your website domain (e.g. example.com). Climb AI analyzes the site and uses the result to pre-fill business info, audience and competitors below. This has to succeed before a website record is created — an invalid domain or failed crawl returns an error you can retry.

  1. 1
    1. Business info
Business name, website URL, language, country and a short description — all required. Language and country default from your locale but are editable; description has no default and must be filled in.
  2. 2
    2. Audience and competitors
Target audiences and competitor domains, generated by AI from your business info the first time you land on this step. Both fields need at least one entry — add or remove them freely before continuing.
  3. 3
    3. Content settings
Pick an image style (Realistic, Watercolor, Cinematic, Illustration or Sketchy) and how many images each article gets, from 0 to 4. You can also connect Google Search Console here and give the AI sample text or article URLs so it matches your existing voice — see Google Search Console.
  4. 4
    4. Publishing schedule
Choose a frequency — Light (2 posts/week), Standard (4 posts/week), Aggressive (daily) or Custom — then pick which days, a publish time and time zone. You also set a minimum SEO score, whether to auto-add internal links and schema markup, and a max word count per article.
  5. 5
    5. Keyword settings
Seed keywords and Google Search Console are always used as keyword sources; pulling keywords from competitor sites is optional and on by default. Minimum search volume defaults to 400, max keyword difficulty to 35, both editable, plus a language/region for keyword data.
  6. 6
    6. Review
A summary of everything above. Confirming here marks onboarding complete and takes you into the dashboard.

Connecting a publishing platform

Connecting a platform is separate from the six steps above — it opens as its own screen, either right after the domain analysis or later from your website settings. Climb AI first tries to auto-detect your platform from the domain: wordpress, wp-admin or wp-content map to WordPress, myshopify.com to Shopify, wixsite.com/wix.com to Wix, and webflow.io to Webflow. If nothing matches, you get a picker with five options: WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow and Webhook.

Each platform needs its own credentials — WordPress, for example, asks for the site URL, a username and an Application Password. See WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, or Webhook if you want articles sent to your own endpoint instead.

You can skip connecting a platform entirely. Articles still generate on schedule — they just sit as Draft or Scheduled until you export them by hand or connect a platform later.
