Notifications

Which events notify you in-app or by email, and how to turn each category on or off.

Updated 2026-09-13

Climb AI notifies you in two ways: an in-app bell dropdown that updates in real time, and a handful of transactional emails tied to your account and billing.

In-app notifications

The bell icon shows unread notifications and updates live over a websocket connection — no refresh needed. Clicking a notification marks it read and, where it can, takes you straight to what it's about: a generated article opens in the content editor, a completed site audit opens its report, a citation scan opens the GEO citation tracker.

Four preferences control which events reach you, set under Settings → Notifications:

PreferenceCovers
Site Audit UpdatesSite audits starting and completing (SEO Agent and GEO Agent audits, and citation scans).
Ranking ChangesRank tracking completing for your tracked keywords.
Article GenerationAn article being generated or failing, and content plans being scheduled.
Weekly ReportsA setting reserved for a weekly email summary. It is on by default but not yet wired to an outgoing email — turning it off has no effect today.

Turning a preference off stops the notification from being created at all — it won't appear in the bell dropdown or count toward your unread badge. A few notifications, like the monthly article- and image-limit warnings, are tied to the Article Generation preference the same way as any other article-related update.

Email notifications

These are account and billing emails, separate from the notification preferences above (which only govern in-app notifications):

  • Welcome email — sent once when you create an account, whether you signed up directly or with Google.
  • Subscription started — sent once when your subscription first becomes active or trialing (never on a renewal, and never a second time when a trial converts to paid). It confirms the plan, price and — for a trial — the date your card will be charged.
  • Trial reminder — sent while your trial is still running, reminding you how many days are left before the first charge.
  • Password reset — a one-time code (OTP) when you request a password reset.
Weekly Reports currently only exists as a toggle in Settings; no weekly summary email is sent yet, on or off.

Changing your preferences

Go to Settings → Notifications, toggle any of the four categories, and select Save Notification Settings. Changes apply to notifications created from that point forward.
